iPhone setup, about 3 minutes

Double-tap the back of your phone. Get the max bid.

You build a small Shortcut once. After that, a double tap on the back of your iPhone screenshots the stream, checks the card and shows your max bid as a notification. You never leave Whatnot or TikTok.

Needs an iPhone 8 or newer on iOS 14 or later, and the Shortcuts app (it comes with iOS).

1. Build the Shortcut

  1. 1

    Create it

Open Shortcuts, tap + in the top right, and name the shortcut bidcheck.

  2. 2

    Take Screenshot

Tap Add Action, search for Take Screenshot and add it.

  3. 3

    Resize Image

Add Resize Image. Set width to 1024 and leave height on Auto. This keeps the upload small and fast.

  4. 4

    Convert Image

Add Convert Image and set it to JPEG.

  5. 5

    Get Contents of URL

Add Get Contents of URL and paste this URL:

    https://bidcheck.pages.dev/quick

    Tap Show More, then set:

    • MethodPOST
    • Request BodyFile
    • FileConverted Image (tap the field and pick the variable)

Want a different margin? Add it to the end of the URL, for example /quick?margin=25 for 25%. The default is 20%.

  6. 6

    Show Notification

Add Show Notification. Tap its text field and pick the Contents of URL variable.

  7. 7

    Run it once

Tap the play button. When iOS asks to share the image with the bidcheck site, choose Always Allow so it never asks in the middle of an auction.
